MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of Bridge of Hope Lebanon County is to end and prevent homelessness for single parent families with the help of trained mentoring groups from within congregations.

Family Resource Coordinator - Dawn Darkes

Dawn Darkes joined Bridge of Hope Lebanon County in May 2007. She works directly with clients and their church mentoring teams.

Dawn holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Eastern College.  Her new role as Family Resource Coordinator is a natural and appropriate transition for her after 11 years as a residential houseparent at the Milton Hershey School.  She resides in Lebanon with her husband, Michael Burkey and their three children. Darkes is also the 2008 coordinator for the Parents for Continued Learning Experiences (PCLE) program. She is a member of Lebanon Area Evangelical Free Church.

A Lebanon County native, Dawn says, “I’m very happy to join Bridge of Hope Lebanon County. Its mission of helping homeless women become independent again is vital to our community in stopping the cycle of homelessness.”

Administrative Assistant - Wendy Bartal

Wendy Bartal joined Bridge of Hope Lebanon County in November 2007. She is responsible for bookkeeping, financial management, office management, and development and marketing support.

Wendy earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Lebanon Valley College and is working on attaining a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Harrisburg Area Community College. She possesses proven expertise in financial, management, and business related matters through her more than ten years in the workforce. Wendy resides in Lebanon with her husband and two children. She is active in many community organizations. Wendy is a member and Secretary of the Board of Zion United Methodist Church of Iona.
